The prompt for this assignment was to create a magazine from one of the following categories: lifestyle, travel, art, and technology. Talk is a lifestyle magazine that covers topics such as fashion, celebrity news, and entertainment.
One of the most difficult things about creating this magazine was the title treatments. Another issue I encountered was figuring out how to make the running text more interesting and ensure that it carried the spreads, rather than the images.
How I improved my spread:
- Better title treatment
- Used paragraph styles to differentiate the categories
- Use of color to make the pull-out quote stand out
- Image is smaller and no longer in a boring square
